Chemical process pump is the general term of all kinds of chemical pumps. Because of different environment and medium, the type and material of selection are also different. Moreover, chemical process pumps should be careful in selecting materials and reduce operational problems.
1, medium characteristics and temperature, some of the media are corrosive, so generally choose corrosion resistant materials; some media will have temperature changes when running, so sometimes choose high temperature or low temperature materials. In a word, the material is selected according to the requirements of the medium.
2, electrochemical corrosion: in order to prevent the potential difference between different materials, the electrochemical corrosion effect is formed in the conductive medium. All the current parts of the pump are preferably made of metal material with the same potential.
3, the economic type of material: it is not economical to use high material, low use, or corrosion resistant material in the design or use of corrosion resistant material.
4, the wear of solid particles: when the medium contains abrasive solid particles in the medium, the related parts should be wearable materials.
Bite 5, between materials for installing or running when the relative movement of the parts, such as shaft and sleeve, bolt and nut, impeller sealing ring and the pump body seal ring, balance disc and balance sheet, in the choice of materials or processes should be two parts of the hardness of the material has some differences, avoid each other bite or scratch in handling or running phenomenon.
6, high speed liquid flow through parts: high lift pump impeller blades, guide vane blades inlet, high lift seal sleeve, high lift pump balance sleeve, balance disc and balance plate and so on shall be used for erosion resistant materials.
Therefore, the selection of materials for chemical process pumps should be considered in many ways. Only when selecting materials that meet the working conditions can we promote the development of production and reduce the occurrence of problems. Otherwise, it will increase the cost and adversely affect the production of enterprises.
