If the pump with the power of motor with the safety margin calculated enough, while the motor in the actual operation because of overload fever, indicates that the power consumption of the pump is too large. The causes of high pump power are:

(1) exorbitant pump speed

(2) the specific gravity of the conveyed liquid exceeds the original design value

(3) the viscosity of the conveying liquid is large

(4) the size of the impeller is too large

(5) the resistance of the pipeline system is beyond or insufficient for the predetermined value

(6) the pump's lift is too low and the flow is too large

(7) there is friction between the rotor parts and the stator parts

(8) wear or damage of the bearing

(9) the pressure of the mechanical seal is too large for the seal seat

(10) rupture of outlet pipe

(11) the bending of the pump shaft

(12) thermal expansion inhomogeneity of different parts in the pump

(13) inaccuracy of dynamometer instruments

(14) the pump balance device does not work.
