Precautions for shield pump installation

Shield pump is a kind of unsealed pump, because it has no shaft seal, it can do without leakage, so it plays an increasingly important role in chemical plant. What should be paid attention to in the installation, so that it can work better and improve the efficiency of work?

Precautions for shield pump installation.

1) in order to improve the suction energy of the pump, the suction pipe of the pump should be reduced as far as possible, with less bending (the elbow is better with a large radius of curvature) and a valve at the dead Angle;

The inlet side piping should be more than or equal to the diameter of the pump inlet. The inlet of a single suction pump is best equipped with a straight pipe about three times the diameter of the inlet. If necessary, the induction wheel can be added to solve the cavitation problem.

2) when the conveying density is less than 650kg/m3, the suction pipe of the pump shall have a slope slope of 1/10 ~ 1/100 to the pump, so that the gas produced by vaporization shall return to the suction tank to avoid cavitation.

3) if the pipe diameter is different, the eccentric reducer should be used to avoid forming the air bag. Health level self-priming pump.

4) for the convenience of maintenance, it is necessary to install the cut-off valve at the inlet level of the pump. It is better to install the ball valve with small resistance.

5) the filter with sufficient filter on the suction side should be installed, and the mesh number should be about 30 ~ 50 mesh/inch.

The above is the main points that the shield pump should pay attention to when installing, should be installed in the correct way according to the specific situation, hope the above information can be helpful to your installation.
