The piping and accessories of pumps are the main components of the pumping unit. How to determine and install the pump pipes is closely related to the safe operation of pumping stations, saving investment, improving water flow conditions and reducing power consumption. It should be designed according to the type of pump and the topographic and geological conditions of the pump room, the structure of the pump house and the site of the station.

The water inlet pipe conveyed the water from the water source or the water into the water pump. The inlet pipe should have high seal and sufficient strength and stiffness, and the loss of water head should be small, so the piping design of the submerged pump should be reasonable.

1. How to determine the pipe material for the pipe of the submersible pump

From the pipe material, the pipe, steel pipe and cast iron pipe are commonly used in the inlet pipe. The life of the hose is short and the price is high. It is only used for temporary pumping unit. The steel pipe is divided into seamless steel pipe, water gas pipe and butt welded pipe. The water inlet pipe is made of water gas pipe and butt welded steel pipe, and the seamless steel pipe is seldom used. The water gas pipe is used in the case under 150 mm, and the welded pipe is used for the case above the caliber of more than 200 mm.

In order to increase the installation height of various centrifugal pumps and reduce the loss of head, the inlet pipe diameter should not be too small. But from the perspective of saving investment, the diameter of inlet pipe should not be set too large. Generally, the suction pump diameter is larger than that of the pump. The diameter of the inlet pipe is controlled by the economic flow rate.

Finally, I would like to remind you that there is a matching note for the submersible pump pipeline: the diameter of the production pipe has been serialized, 500 mm below, 50 mm - grade, 500 mm above, 100mm - grade. When the actual inlet pipe size is determined, a series of standardized pipe diameters should be selected.
